How the Machine Works
The butt fusion process involves the following steps:
1. Clamping the Pipes
o The HDPE pipes are fixed securely in the machine clamps.
2. Facing Operation
o A facing tool trims both pipe ends to make them perfectly flat and aligned.
3. Heating
o A heating plate is placed between the pipe ends.
o The pipe ends are heated to the required fusion temperature (typically around 200°C–220°C).
4. Fusion
o The heating plate is removed.
o The molten pipe ends are pressed together under controlled pressure.
5. Cooling
o The joint is allowed to cool naturally.
o A strong, homogeneous, leak-free weld is formed.
